The Staff Development Department is responsible for training of new employees and veteran staff. All employees are trained in Employee Conduct, Patient Rights, Infection Control, Fire Safety, Risk Management and Hospital Orientation. Verbal De-escalation and restraint techniques are also taught through CPI - Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Foundation Course or Handle With Care (HWC). First Aid/CPR/AED courses are taught to help individuals recognize and respond appropriately to life emergencies. Many other training sessions are provided to assist employees in developing new skills.
